Hello All, Just wanted to update you on the latest Kansas Fair Race news. Just got off the phone with Randy and as always the famous Orange Shirt Crew will be you officals for all 4 fair races. We have changed the classes up a little but points for your series will work out. We changed the classes up to help put on a better show for the crowd. The twins class is now a open class, singles ok!! At Stockton this will be quite interesting. Also we have the 0-250 vintage class that will pay $500 to win at 2 different shows, one Stockton for sure, and still undecided about the other track! Would love your input on this as well. Please get your pre-entry's in so we can order awards and plan our big feed on Sunday. We will have event T-SHIRTS for sale at all 4 shows as well. Thanks Frank 307-267-6368, or fhar1957@aol.com. PRE-ENTRY AT cyclezoneracing.com. Checks can be mailed to Frank Hardman, po box 725 glenrock wy. 82637

Thanks for taking the fun out of the twins class. I just hope other promoters don't follow this change.

I am not trying to ruin the twins class. I am A twin rider as well. We need to get more excitement so we can attract more fans and riders. Same people year after year winning the same classes is not helping fill the starting grid. Thanks for the input. Frank

ROB51g,
How does adding the singles to the twins class lessen the fun factor? Think Frank is trying to eliminate having the same winner every year. I for one, would like to dethrone the past winner. Are you worried the the singles may up the competition? Race !

Well I think twins are a class of their own. I understand that you guys are tired of seeing Gibson win. maybe we can just change the rules so he can't race just like outlawing Can-Ams in the 250 class or Alcohol in the Jawa.

I have seen that is easier to eliminate the competition rather than try and come up to the level that is required to win with the exception of one class. I would assume that if a single dominates the twins class, it won't happen next year! Careful of pointing fingers, some people take it personally, but paybacks are.... well FUN!!!
Take care

Why does it matter if a single runs with the twins? Shouldn't a twin have a power delivery advantage over a single on a large track? I know there are some beefy singles out there, but that should not be a concern for a big 750 twin.
Why should the rules have to change? Heck I think changing the rules to eliminate competition is the easy way out. Just like the TZ 750, someone had balls enough to take that thing around the track and dominate, then they banned it? With thinking like that we should just ban talented riders so that someone else can have a chance to win.
I know not everyone has a load of cash to dump into a bike, so spending more money on a bike to go faster is not a great solution.
However a viable solution, that is not so difficult, would be to spend a few extra hours practicing every month. Or hows about shaving some extra weight off, that would help the whole power/weight ratio. Not to mention getting into better shape would help stamina, allowing a guy to race harder longer.
Look at Bill Snyder, he went on a diet last year lost several pounds. He rode more classes and said losing the extra weight made him feel better and last longer..
Heck I even lost about 10 lbs for the race season, (and to get in better shape to chase taliban up the mountains)
Disclaimer- This as it may sound in some parts is not a Viagra commercial, or directed at any individual.. just personal opinion on what anyone could do to be better

TJ, It's not about the power,it's about a twin is heavier and harder to ride as aggressively through the corners. I have plenty of hp just hard to ride it as hard. I never said it ruined the class just takes away from the fun.

I never said it ruined the class just takes away from the fun. I see, I was thinking more about the balance of two cylinders popping and rotating vs 1, making smoother power, not thinking much about the heavier engine and bike. It's easy for a newbie like me to overlook minor details. Josh was jsut on the phone earlier giving me a lesson on gearing...

If you ask the natl. boys who were there at stockton last year, they would all tell you that one day the singles would have had the advantage, the next day the twin. I spend my time and effort to try to put on a better show each year. Remember, some of the twins guys also have fast singles. it will be interesting to see which weapon of choice they choose. This is not a rule against anyone. I want to see a good race! Frank

To rob51g I am not trying to elimnate any one. Again I am a twins rider myself, and would much rather ride my twin any day over a single. How many twins were at the last 3 races you raced at ? Are you A am rider or a pro rider. I am trying to make full classes instead of 3 or 4 in a class. Please give me more input. Get the guys you race with to give me their input please. Thanks Frank fhar1957@aol.com

Frank, I never thought you were wanting to eliminate riders. At the last weekend we raced at Wichita, my class,Vintage Pro Twins had 8 riders on Friday,7 on Saturday and I think 4 or 5 on Sunday. That was local race not "Stocton". We lost a few as we went to bikes braking. I think it was 1 of if not the largest class all weekend. I will be at Stockton and Oberlin but am now looking forward to Davenport more.

Rob, I do understand your point. However the sunday race with only 4 or 5 is what concerns me. Don't you think it would be really cool to see 24 bikes in the main. Thats what I am trying to make happen. Same reason i am paying 500 bucks at 2 different races for the old 0-250 vintage class. Wouldn't it be cool to see 3 rows of crazy 2-stroke riders for the main event ? If such a huge amount of twins should show up, we can always make a twins class only. Lets see how it goes. Again if your points racing we can work that out for your class points. thanks
