Kids,
Lessons learned:
1) Read and re-read posts before posting to assure they can’t be misinterpreted (sometimes they will be in spite of your best efforts).
2) Think very carefully before publicly accusing somebody of wrong doing. If you are suspicious, in many cases there are better ways of handling the situation.
3) If you have made a mistake, take responsibility for it and apologize - as both Josh and Dan did. Thinking men and women will respect you for it.

Thanks Dan, Appology accepted. I'm probably a bit sensitive about being accused of running oversized since most of the time my bikes are running in the 600 class where we are down at least 30cc to as much as 300cc. Now back to rules and racing, OK? Pat. ps. getta if you included me in kids post, Thanks. I am starting into my 2nd or maybe 3rd[can't remember]childhood.

Hi you all,
Hope you're having a good non-racing season. At least you're keeping the forum going through the slow months.
I thought I should weigh in since my name was mentioned in this thread. I did indeed buy the yellow champion framed bike. That is the chassis I'm running presently. When I got it, the engine was small displacement and close to stock. I had Pat rebuild that engine and he made me a solid 442 and I put it back in the frame. I also own a 481 engine built with Pat's parts, but not a complete Orman engine.
Let me say this about the old "wood hippie" Orman. He can make any size motor go fast. If you want to pay for it, it can be done. If you take a close look at his chassis set up, you'll see a lot has been done to make his bikes lighter. I learned from him that big sprockets mean more chain and more weight. The guy is obsessed with making sure the little things are done right on his equipment.
I've had the opportunity to ride Pat's bikes over the years and I usually did not want for more power. Last summer I got the chance to take some practice laps at Brownstown Illinois speedway on his 360 motor and then jump off it and ride one of his 442 motors. There is a definite difference. However, put the little motor on the right kind of track and it could have an advantage over the bigger engine. Put the right rider on any of these bikes and it won't matter if it's a 360 or a 442. They are both fast. There just a different kind of fast.
I've known Pat since I got back into racing over 5 years ago. He runs engines that fit the class. If you don't believe me, go ahead and protest him. I'd bet that he'll take home the cash.
I think everyone on this thread has retracted any incorrect statements and apologized to Pat regarding any finger pointing. As a matter of fact, I talked to Pat and he feels the same way. I knew he must be upset to jump in and answer the posts because he hates to type and I think I counted 3 or 4 posts on here.
He can build the engines. It's up to the rider to enter the right bike in the correct class. I've never known Pat to encourage anyone to do differently.
Hope to see you all out on the circuit this spring. It's about time to go indoor racing over in Illinois and Kentucky.
Take care.

Looks like we'll have company at Stockton this year... the VDTRA and maybe the AHRMA will be there too!
(info was posted on flattrack.com forum)

I have not been on this forum much in the past couple of months, and was surprised to see accusatory fingers pointed at my (former) yellow XL Honda, built by Mike Anderson.
Post quoted below: _______________ Josh, You are absolutely correct. Last year there was a certain yellow XL350 (raced my WM at NFTRA events) for sale on the VFT page. If my memory serves me well, it was advertised as a 440 . I am sure there are some within the displacement limit, but this one absolutely was not.
Dan _______
First Randy Blackwell, thanks for straightening the record on that bike, and the engine it was running before you purchased it, and to Pat as well.
For those who don’t like being beat “by a girl” and seem to take solace in accusing me of running a cheater bike, either put up some tear down money- or shut up and eat my dust.

I am pretty sure the VFT advertisement I read said it was larger than 375cc. Maybe a misprint?
