Here's the trainer I've been in Josh. 1939 Taylorcraft. A fine example of one I might add. Today I finally feel like I've made some progress. I can actually take off & land her decently most times, even slipping into a good 'ole Kansas cross wind. I've accumulated about 6 hours so far. Done quite a few things, the most gut wrenching was full power stalls while banking. Especially to the right, since her right wing stops flying a measurable bit before the left. I had left rudder to the floor & nosed her down before we ended up on our top. Once the speed was up to get the wings flying again, we were alright. There's been some sketchy times though. I found out un-consciously dragging a brake on landing will put me in the grass real quick like & at that point, we were just along for the ride. Ended up no damage to us or the lovely little T, thank goodness. My light hearted instructor just told me she wanted to go grazing, since the tail dragger lends itself so well to 'rough & short' fields. We've done those too. Quite comical when my instructor says, 'land down there, I gotta take a leak' HA! So I set her down in a nice field. I could get into this barnstorming stuff, lemme tell ya. He made me practice an emergency engine failure, told me to pick out a spot... Best I saw at the time was a wide dirt road without any poles near it, hehe! Good thing there weren't any cars down there... They would have nuts there pants when a plane came at 'em!

Diggity Dang Ray..... I can dig it all day. Being a taildragger pilot aint for the fancy boys... They can't fly 'em. Takes a real man.... In fact, our boy TJ put almost an hour on the Champ yesterday. Yeah, pavement stinks when you're flying these old girls. I avoid it most times. Can't really do any good barnstorming from a paved runway... Josh

Awesome!
& that ain't no doubt. The tricycles are 100x easier to fly than the taildraggers!
What is your plane? I don't recognize it, bein' new to all this.
