So got a piece of paper a few days ago it read..
To all those who see these presents, greeting: This is to certify that the President of the United States of America authorizes by executive order 24 AUG 1964 has been awarded
The Bronze Star Medal
To SFC Todd Smiley 1st BN 168th IN
For Exceptionally Meritorious Service in support of Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan from 1 NOV 2010 to 1 JUL 2011 Sergeant First Class Smiley's personal courage and commitment to mission accomplishment in a combat zone under the most extreme of circumstances greatly contributed to the success of Operation Enduring Freesom, Sergeant First Class Smiley's performance reflects great credit upon himself, Task Force Duke CJTF (combined joint task force) and the United States Central Command
Our Battallion is TF Lethal part of the 34th Infantry Division, we fell under command of TF Duke (1st ID) and no matter how much we did they always seemed to take the credit for our guys going out doing the hard work while they sat behind their desks in our area of operation.
I ran the BN (battallion) mortar platoon and trained many of the mortar sections out at the other companies in our BN. I had the opportunity to train and work with Special Forces groups on their mortar systems, as well as work with Afghan mortar teams.
I'll be getting on a plane here one of these days and should be home around the 23rd of July.
Can't wait to get to the races and enjoy the good times again.

I'm on a bus, and in an hour and a half I'll get to listen to some people tell us how great of a job we did. Then I'll be released and go home for the evening to try and be a part of the civilian population. Tomorrow... RACING the bike. Gotta LOVE America..
