Dalton crashed in the Pro main and did not make the restart. He spent the night under medical observation and will extend his stay in California by a couple of days. Jimmy and Elysia are on their way to bring him home. Jimmy has told me Dalton is going to be OK. Dan

Elysia has texted me a couple times. Dalton is doing ok and will make a good recovery. However he will be out of commision for about 6 months in order to heal up properly. Obviously great news but he will miss out on his senior year of football and maybe wrestling season. Most importantly he will make a good recovery. Team Kurtz

Dalton called me about 45 minutes ago and we had a good conversation. He is sore, but in good spirits and has a positive attitude. He is going to be OK.

I received the following message from a track worker at the Calistoga event and wanted to share it with the friends and fans of the GPFTS, the Bell family, and the Lindfors family.
Dear Dan, I got your email from your CRacing name on the flat track dot com website. I know you don't know me and I don't know you. I was the pit gate worker at Calistoga and sat near Dalton all day. I have never met him before either. He shared his corner of the pit with me so I could take a break and sit for a minute and get out of the sun. We talked a little bit all day long about how the track was and I always wished him good luck when he went out on the track. He seemed like a great kid. When the crash happened, I was very sad that it was him and really bummed when he didn't come back to his pit. I read your posts on him getting out soon and getting better. I am very happy for that. I want you to mention to him that the Guy in the Blue Calistoga Shirt (Fat Guy with Spy Sunglasses)and brown Calistoga hat that was working the gate at his pit wrote this letter to you asking how he is doing. Please let him know that I was concerned about him. Tell his parents that they have a really good son! My real name is John Martin. I am with the Lodi Motorcycle Club from the famous Lodi Cycle Bowl in Lodi California. I was just helping out the Calistoga event. I wanted to share my thoughts, feelings and concerns about this kid (Dalton Bell) that I met yesterday in Calistoga. The second part is the others he was pitting with. The Lindfors (Aaron and his Dad I think) whom I never met or GNC # 51 Steve Murray and his GF were so concerned for Dalton that they wanted to load up and get to the hospital to be with Dalton but since it was a closed pit with no vehicles allowed, their van was not with them and they wanted to get it badly. I told them to just go and get it and get it loaded up so then can leave as soon as the main event is over and they did. Dalton was with some of the most nicest and concerning people that I have ever met. They (Aaron or Steve) didn't dwell on not making the GNC Twins main but their thoughts for their friend Dalton. Let his family know that he was in good hands with good people. Thanks Dan and please let me know his condition. Or if he even remembers me? Sincerely, John Martin Ps. I will forever follow Dalton, Aaron and Steve in the results section wherever they race. They have all made a new fan.

It is nice to see that others who meet our racing family can see in just a short period of time what we already know about them: that they are all awesome!
