For those of you who were not aware, the Jeeps Family was hit with tragic news early Saturday morning. Former Jeeps President, Greg Gilman, and his wife Patty were the couple involved in the hit and run motorcycle accident Friday night/Saturday morning. Patty lost her life in the accident and Greg received serious multiple injuries and by Sunday had already gone through two surgeries. KAKE did a nice story on the Gilmans. A memorial fund has been established at Chisholm Trail State Bank in Park City. Prayers to not only the Gilman family but the entire Jeeps family as they mourn this loss.

For those of you that where unfortunate enough not to ever meet Pattie or Greg you sure missed out. Greg and Pattie were the ones that did not let flat track die at jeeps, Greg told me that he would not resign as president of the club until lights where back up around the short track. He at every meeting told "motocrossers" that the flat trackers built the motocross and we "Jeeps" will not forget that. It is because of him (and Daryl)that we have lights on that race track. Please if you never have meet him, when you race at jeeps in the future, go up to Greg (when he recovers he WILL be out there) and introduce yourself to him. You will have a great friend within a minute, he is that kind of guy. Be sure to locate Patties signature on the water tower (that she built) she had one great number... we love you Pattie.

Loss of valued Jeeps Club Member...
As many of you have heard the Jeeps Club has lost one of it's most active and valued members. Early Saturday morning, while out on a early morning motorcycle ride Greg and Patty Gilman were the victim of a hit and run motorist, who ran their Harley into a guard rail on the I-135 & K-254 Interchange. Patty Gilman was pronounced dead at the scene. Greg is in St. Frances Hospital with broken ribs, sternum, punctured lungs, dislocated clavicle, and other injuries. He has already had 2 operations. The first was on his femur and hip and the second was on his back where 4 vertebras were damaged.
Some new members might not know who Greg and Patty are. Greg was the president of the club for the last 6 years and the 2 years before that was Vice-President and on the board before that. Patty has held a lot of different positions. Most recently was the chairwoman of the board. Also was secretary of the club and did any and everything from do sign in to fix the tractors. She did it all and we will miss her deeply.
If you would like to read and / or send Greg and family a message, please feel free to post on our message forum here is the link to the message thread.
