Can anyone tell me who is responsible for the Kenny and Jenny Powers memorials in the small bike classes. I saw that today on the standings page and it brought back many happy memories for me from when I was a kid. They were both very special people to me as my Dad worked for them in the early 70's,and we spent many hours in the Yamaha cycle sports center.Kenny would always try to get my brother and I to race for him,but Mom and Dad would'nt let us race so we all went out to the scrambles track at Eldorado Lake every weekend and raced each other.(whats the differance).Oh well,Would really like to hear more about them from the racing community.Trying to relive childhood memories.

Thanks for bring that up, Mark. C. D. Martin is responsible for the sponsorship of both the 50cc and the 85cc classes in honor of Jenny and Kenny Powers. Kenny helped a lot of young racers get started and also a lot of not so young racers stay in the game. A big part of flat track history in the central states area involved Kenny turning wrenches and teaching, and Jenny working sign-in and keeping score. Thank you C. D. and Martin Trucking, Randy

I would also like to thank Mr. Martin for remembering the Powers in this way by supporting our sport and helping out the kids.Seems fitting as Kenny was always helping out the youngsters. He was a big help to my good friend Todd Hilyard with 80cc bikes when he was a kid.I've thought about them all day at work today and I greatly appreciate bringing them back into my ever failing memory. It's good to relive some of those days gone by occasionally. Thanks again C.D. and all involved.
