The New Stockton Kansas Class Structure

After over 400 e-mails and lots of long phone calls here will be the new class structure for the Stockton Races, Aug. 10-11th. This year we will race in the afternoon as well as our night program. This year we will have a riders meeting at 9:30 am and practice at 10:30 am. Some heat races and main events are starting at 12:30. We will run a class if there are 3 riders in the class, but it will probably be combined with a similar class. With the extended hours we can handle a few more classes to make sure everyone gets to ride a lot. This is very much a family type event and we want to accommodate everyone we can.


Amateur Classes- Modern
1. Pee Wee- 55cc
2. 65cc
3. 85cc (both 2 & $ stroke)
4. 0-250 modern
5. open amateur modern
6. over 35 amateur modern
7. Mad Dog senior over 16 – 4 stroke-air cooled
8. Mad Dog junior under 16 – 4 stroke-air cooled

Amateur Classes- Vintage
9. 0-400cc Vintage- 2 stroke
10. open vintage
11. over 50 vintage

Pro Classes
12. Vintage Pro Twins
13. Vintage Pro over 50
14. Vintage Pro 600 (No Honda XR500, TT500’s must be no larger than 600cc)
15. New-Vintage Seventies Singles – XR500, TT500, TT600, etc. this will be the go fast 600’s - No carb restrictions, up to .080 over bore, No rim rules, No fork rules, NO BITCHING!
16. Modern Unlimited – Must be 30 yrs old – No restrictions
17. Modern Open Pro – Must be 16 yrs of age.
18. Pro Singles – Must be 16 yrs of age.
19. Brakeless – Call for Details.

Very cool Frank! I was in need of some good news.

This is a way for everyone to have fun, competitive classes and still put on an entertaining evening show.

Looks like I have several options, depending on how fast I'm feeling.

Thanks for the question. I want this to be a fair class so I am asking for everyone to police themselves. I would probably be ok with xl350's side-port but must be under the 400cc limit. Also maybe BSA 500'S, 440'S etc, could run in this class possibly. I am really open to input on this class. Thanks Frank

Just side port XL350s? Seems to me the center port 350's should probably be included too.

Here's my input. I know it may not be worth much, but here it is:
If I can run my center port XL350, I'll come to Stockton to run it. I usually ride 2-3 other classes too. I would be hesitant to come at all if I can't ride my 350. (2 days pit passes for me and my crew, entry fees for 2 days)

To answer the impending advice early.... No, I don't want to ride it in the same pack as the tt's or xr's or any other 500s-600s. I can hold my own with modern bikes under 450, but it works the old girl pretty good.

I'd just as soon ride it against bikes of the same size and vintage, like every other race.

That's my $2 ($.02 adjusted for inflation)....

Other than that it looks like you've put together a killer line up. Thanks for the hard work.
