Randy or Tom, Can we assume the "proposed" class structure from the previous thread is a done deal? Just checking...

I dug up the "proposed classes" post...
Proposed 2009 GPFTS Classes
Trophy classes
50cc, up to 8 years old
65cc, 6-12 years old
150cc, stock appearing, except tires and pipe, no age limit
250cc modern, no age limit
Open modern,
400cc Vintage, ’79 and older, no age limit
Vintage open, ’75 and older*
50+ Vintage open, ’75 and older
40+ open (modern motorcycles okay)
Pro classes
Open pro
450cc pro
Vintage 250-600, '75 and older*
Vintage Twins, '75 and older*
* Vintage riders must 30 years of age as of the date of competition.
These are the proposed classes for the 2009 season. There may races that the GPFTS will co-promote, such as Stockton, where the class structure may slightly vary. In these cases it will be announced before the event how the points will be payed.

Kyle,
There has been no discussion of changes since this list was proposed.
(I know I'm not Randy or Tom, but they're not on here as regularly as I am so I thought I'd answer you).

Thanks Tammy, I went back and looked at the "proposed classes" post and there wasn't much discussion about it... Not too many changes really, but I just thought I'd verify if it was set in stone or not. I'm going to put some fliers together in the next month or two and try to get them up in the local m/c shops, figured I'd include the schedule and classes.
Sure would be nice to get the rider numbers up this year! I'm keeping my eye open for another bike or two... Heck, I wouldn't mind dragging another bike or two to the races just for other guys to ride. I saw a real deal on a fast 450, too much bike for me, but might be good for a young gun. I just have to sell some more old bikes to get $$ together. I got rid of two old ones yesterday (don't worry, not the Triumphs).

Tammy, thanks for posting. It is time we set the classes and make it official, there hasn't been much chatter about this so we assume it is alright with most riders, so that is what we will go with for '09.
There will be races, such as Little Rock, that we will run additional classes, but the posted classes will always be run as long as there is enough entries.

I interpret everyone's silence as understanding the necessity of having limited classes and being happy to have somewhere to race. Thanks for all you're doing!
