Anybody want to share their favorite Topeka burger joint? I'm looking for a place to eat lunch on Saturday and would prefer to go to one of the local favorites, be it a burger, Mexican, Chinese, sushi, etc.
Anybody have any suggestions?
No, Kyle, I will NOT eat hospital cafeteria food. Been there, done that. Once.

Ahhh, finally something I know about! I love mexican food, but coming from AZ I haven't found any mexican food here yet, it's all Texican... LOL! Not big on the Chinese... but burgers, now thats different! Amazingly the burgers here at the hospital aren't bad, but given the choice I'd eat anywhere but here... I spend too much time here already.
For Mexican - Casa Ramos - 29th/Oakley
For Chinese - Panda Buffet - at the mall (21st/Wanamaker area)
For Indian - The Globe - 10th/Quincy - authentic Indian FWIW
(recommended by my coworkers)
I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a BURGER...
Seabrook Tavern - 21st/Seabrook - Home of the 3lb burger, pretty good too.
The Pad - N. Topeka Blvd. - Pretty good sized burger, not too shabby. They just taste different in a good way.
Horizon - 21st/Western (just west of Harley shop on 21st) - Very good burgers! Kind of known for them around town.
Bobos - 10th/MacVicar - Very good burgers, old timey place, you can get pie for dessert.
Perry Pub - in Perry, KS, about 15 miles East on Hwy 24 - Small town pub with VERY good burgers, but everyone in the bar has like 4 cigarettes going at once. Cough, cough...
If you want a new, modern place to eat:
Red Robin - North on Wanamaker Rd (by the new theaters) - They brag about their burgers, but I have only eaten there once and it was pretty good.
Steak and Shake - Wanamaker Rd area - Others have told me they have good burgers.

Thanks for the advice, sounds like I might be able to find a good burger. Where is PT's Coffee Co.? I may need a hot one after my early Sunday morning ride from KC to Topeka. Or........maybe they will send a cup with Michele? No sugar, please.

PT's is in Barrington Village - 5660 SW 29th. And if you beat me there I'll have a triple shot latte.

Haven't quite decided on lunch just yet, but I will be sure to find PT's Coffe when I get to town Saturday morning. If it's as good as I expect, I will be there again on Sunday morning.
Bob, Tell me more about Pat's.........dry, wet, soaked, smoked.......? Why do you like it? Or, why did you suggest it?

Dan.......I gues you could say smoked with some sauce on it. Mild to hot sauces are available. Good portions, good price. We eat there on occasion.
If you are still craving bbq, Lonnies at the Harley shop on Topeka Blvd is really good. His cheesey potatoes are to die for. Topeka Harley also are sponsers of the GNC race.
Pat's Pig is close and a lot of the drag racers eat there. The Harley shop is about 3 miles further north. Just a bunch of mosickle riders hang out there.........Bob Ives

Bob, Thanks for the expanded review. I think Pat's Pig will be my choice for Saturday lunch (I'll bet it's a tad quieter than the "other place")

I dined on a fabulous mushroom and swiss burger with Kenny Coolbeth at Steak and Shake after the race Saturday night. (ok, ok, so he just happened to be there at the same time. Can't a girl dream a little? )
