I wanted to get some thoughts and discussion on a 250cc class. As some of you know I’ve always thought the 250 class should be much more popular than it is because almost anyone can race a 250 young, old, big, small, a rider with not too much experience, a veteran racer, etc. on a short track it should be a strong class. Back in the ‘70’s all short track nationals were contested on 250’s, so no one can think they are too old or too good to ride one. My ideas on a 250 class: It would be a semi-pro class, pay back 100%, half or over half of the riders in the field would, at least, receive their entry fee back. Illegible riders would be any amateur or pro vintage riders or modern amateur riders (no modern pro or 450 pro riders). Is anyone interested, let’s hear your thoughts? Randy

Randy, As you know since we discussed this at Jeeps, I'm all for it. I'm working with the shop I work at and a good friend to start collecting everything to get 1 going. I hope other will as well. Rob

How about allowing 360 vintage bikes in this class? Just a thought. Might increase rider count.

Proposed rules for new 250 class: Motorcycle eligibility, 250cc maximum for all modern motorcycles, 360cc maximum for all vintage motorcycles (vintage motorcycle, 1979 or older). Rider eligibility: minimum age 14 years old, all amateur racers modern or vintage, vintage pro racers (sorry, no modern pro riders).
