Anyone heard how Kevin is doing? I heard that he broke his leg... Too bad, he's a great guy with a big smile all the time. Get well soon, dude! Thats a fun little track, but that surface kept me guessing... almost put me on my butt (or head) once. I think I was on and off the bike about 3 times in half a second.... LOL! Kyle#44x

Talked to Kevin a few hours ago. He is going in for surgery Thursday morning around 5:30am. His spirits are ok but I'm sure that leg is hurtin. Broke both bones about 3" above the ankle. Did get to drive his mini van to Ralph's Sat night and it will do all the speedo says (fast). He will be going to St. Francis hosp. Later Bob

Hi folks, Kevin here. The leg is doing pretty good right now. As Bob says I will be going in Thursday to get a rod put in. Gonna try and get Bob to help and see if we can't make it a high performance rod. They would of already done this stuff but since I take the blood thinners we have to wait 5 days so we wont have any problems with that. Thanks to all of you who helped pick me up and get the van loaded. The one thing I have enjoyed about this sport again is all the friends one can make. Talk to you all soon with updates. Thanks Again. Oh yeah all spelling errors are complements of these great pain killers.....see ya soon.

Well I did go see Keven yesterday afternoon and he's got some Good Women looking after him. Surgery went ok but they didn't go with the titanium rod I suggested. Oh Well. He's talking about Springfield next weekend but I think that's the drugs (pain meds)talking. His spirits are good and he thanks everybody for the concern. He said they might turn him loose this afternoon if everything goes to plan. I will keep you posted until he can use his computer again. He also broke a bone in his left hand. Oh Oh bathroom duty. Later Bob

Ha! He told me they were going to x-ray the hand but that he thought it was nothing! Probably felt like nothing compared to the leg though I guess. Can't wait til Kev gets home and starts posting while he's still good and drugged up, wooohooo!!!!
Thanks for the update Bob.

Hi folks, Just a quick update went to the doc last Thursday, looks like They will let me put weight on the leg in a few more weeks if i can get the ankle and toes to start wiggling. They say its healing good though. Also found out the hand is not broken it just ruptured the legaments between the wrist and thumb. Say in a few months the pain will go away. Hope to see alot of you in Topeka on the 4th to watch the grand nationa. Also had a deal with the wife before I started racing again. Looks like I might be having a flat tracker sale in the future. Thats ok though I will be a #1 fan at the races and cheer you all on. See ya soon

Speakin from a guy that just went thru a painful injury and a long healing yet to go, I can tell you that I thought about hanging it up. There ain't a guy out there that's been racin for very long that hasn't gone thru the same thing we have. I have a plate and eight screws holding my collar bone together. It will be a very long time before it heals completely, if at all. I've only been racin for 3 seasons. I'm goin to race a 4th. After my get off at Stockton and wakin up in the E-room I didn't want to get on a bike again. I saw the same thing you did after. The greatest people in the world staying with me at the hospital. Insisting on me staying with them that night to make sure I was okay. When I got back to the track the next day I was witness to something I had only heard of but never experienced. My bikes were taken care of overnight. My canopy was put up after an overnight storm. Several people, riders and others, came around to help me get my stuff together. They hitched up my trailer and loaded my bikes I had offers to drive me home too (should have taken them up on that. Will next time). That experience lifted my spirits and renewed my desire to go fast. I want to be a part of this for as long as I can. If your wife loved you enough to support your desire to race before then she will again. You're a good racer and I enjoyed seeing you at the track. Rather see you wearin leathers than street clothes. Oh and get off the pain meds as soon as you can. They can get hold of you and not let go. Heal fast,

The first time I saw Kevin was on the starting line. I went to give him the thumbs up and all I remember is seeing the biggest smile I've ever seen. Thats the the way I always see him! Stick with it. The biggest thing I try to get Cody to understand is "It's not if your gonna crash, but when and how bad." I know crashing sucks! Been there done that! Many more times than I'd like. Thats why we can do it, and not everybody can.
Not just motorcycles. Cody feel off one of those two wheel scooters today. 3 hours in the ER. Cody gets to wear the collar splint.
Any way think about it. I hope to be back on the line next year. Won't be the same not seeing your smile.

Thumper - Let hope there isn't a "next time"!
Scott - Too bad about Cody! Tell him I said "howdy" and get better soon. Hope to see you guys around...

Morning all just another update. Looks like I'm still on crutches for another 4 weeks or so. Going back to work on the 6th just have to take it easy and stay at the desk alot. Everything is going to be OK though so I still got the smile going.
Hey Scott, I hope Cody is up and running again, let us all know how he's doing.
See you all at Topeka on the 4th
