Hey I'm just throwing this out there... You know how sometimes your brain just thinks up something? No? Well... mine did a 3am this morning:
So I have this fun little 1979 250 Honda that I love riding, but the only vintage class it fits in is the Vintage 400 and I'm getting tired of Bill, TJ, and Ray beating up on me all the time. ;D What if we said that bikes that qualify for the Vintage 400 class can ride all the other vintage classes too? I think the 1975 cutoff for the other vintage classes is mainly to keep 4-valve Honda 500's out of the mix. Is that right? Well if a bike qualifies for the Vintage 400 it shouldn't threaten any TT500's or anything else... but it may allow smaller cc riders to race more than one class.
I'm sure there is more to the current rules and class structure than I am aware of... so I figured no big deal, everyone already knows I'm a dork... I just had to ask if this would work. I like the Vintage 400 class, but would like to ride in a bigger class sometimes and it would be nice to be able to ride more than one class with my little harmless girly 250. Heck, as of right now it looks like I may not be riding this year, as we are taking care of grandbaby Rhoan (future champion - btw) and money is tighter than normal... not to mention the additional responsibility on my shoulders. Thinking about selling/trading the little Honda 250 if anyone is interested. Would be nice to get a bike that fits in more classes, but I'd kind of hate to throw away all the money I spent on suspension work on the Honda.
Just some thoughts from an idling mind...
