There has been considerable discussion about not having an amateur quad class this year, and as it has been stated before this is definitely not set in stone. As you all know the only problem is rider count, not enough racers on the track at a time. The April 11 race at 81 Speedway in Park City would be a good opportunity for all quad racers to make a statement, I realize there will only be a pro class at 81 but it will be paying back 5 positions (with an 8 rider entry minimum), so there is a chance to make some money. With the extended practice starting at 3:00 and no entry fee just a $25 pit pass this is a good chance to get some seat time plus shake the winter bugs out of your equipment. Two years ago 81 Speedway scheduled quads to run as the only support class for a traveling non-wing sprint car show, this was an excellent opportunity for the GPFTS and for the chance of future events at 81 Speedway, only 1 racer entered (thank you, Brian). I see this event as a second chance to make a first impression on fans that have not experienced flat track racing. If we have a successful turnout of quad racers on the 11th, we will for sure run two classes for the full GPFTS schedule.
