"In 1937, the engine was designed to include a recirculating lubrication system, and designated the model U, and it went into the same frame and running gear configuration as the model E Knucklehead, which had originated in 1936. The U continued to be produced in varying configurations as a 74& cubic inch U & UL (1937 to 1948), and 80 cubic inch UH & ULH engine (1937 to 1941). By that time, the first year of the aluminum-head Panhead, it had been thoroughly superseded and outsold in the marketplace by the superior performance of the overhead valve model Big Twins" ~reference only friends...

Thats a cool little Yamaha.Looks like a 1972 jt-2 60cc mini enduro. My younger brother had one that my Dad bought from Kenny Powers.Theres a retired Yamaha dealer over here in Springfield that still has a brand new 1971 jt-1,the red one.I always wanted one of those when I was a kid.I try to buy it every time I talk to him.I still have a 1978 gt 80 that my boys learned to ride on but its pretty ragged out.Been to chadwick too many times.

Probably was Tom, but I had me a fast 5HP Rupp at the time and it was the king of our little neighborhood back yard short track in El Dorado.Shortly before the yamaha came home, Dad bought me a suzuki ts 50.Stipped it down trying my best to make it look cool like a TM but it was still a 50.Thats about the time we moved to Missouri so the flattrack stuff fell way off over here in the trees. Things sure would have been alot different if we had of stayed out there.
