For those of you that didn't see it on Flattrack.com...This was taken by Tommy Secora of Omaha, NE. I thought it was a pretty cool pic. The GPFTS had their own wrecking crew at Davenport. Lindfors, and Hale won their respective classes. Other guys like Goodwin, Jantz (he hasn't forgotten anything in his down time) Snyder, Bryan, and, Trail did well also, taking home their fair share of hardware. Tommy took some other great pics at Davenport. I will share them as soon as time permits. Josh Trail

So did you recover from this slide? Great pic just the same.

Heck Yeah I recovered... See I just had a "little" extra speed. Well, the tires only scrub off so much. If you drag the entire side of the bike and your butt... You can scrub off that unwanted speed pretty quick.....
Nahhhh, Just a broken fuel filter and a second row start. A little sore, but not hurt. I raced from the second row to a third place finish. My personal best at Davenport.
ALSO... I forgot to mention Aaron Lindfors. He hopped on a Rotax he had never even seen before, didn't get to practice on, led most of his heat race, and finished mid-pack in the main....Impressive feller

Awsome picture Josh. When did you do that?I must have been in line to go out or something.Did'nt know you went down.Guess it did'nt bother you much since you were riding great.I sure was glad we had a pretty safe night and nobody got a ride in the meat wagon.Especially since the track was a little rougher than usual with all the rain and all. That picture is definately a keeper though!
See Ya!

Wish I could say it was great racing from my bike seat... but that's the way it goes sometimes. It was cool seeing so many familiar faces like Bill S, Rob, Jody, Josh, Mark, Aaron, Rodney, Dallas. We had a pretty good showing from the GPFTS! Mark looked really good for his first race back in the saddle! I killed it on the line in my heat race which is not so bad if you don't panic WHICH I DID and tried to kick it without going to neutral.... we all know that doesn't work. Next the flagger pushed me a little and well that's all fine if you leave it in 2nd.... but I had clicked it down to 1st. Nope, waved off the track headed for the semi. Started second row and well my best for the whole day was passing two guys in the semi, but didn't make it to the main this year. Next year!! Hope to see the same faces and more if they can make it. Josh - Didn't get your info or address so we went right on by Shelby Sat afternoon headed for Thurman. We had about an hour delay on 80 due to that bad 18 wheeler accident. We'll get over to see you guys and take a tour one of these days. DanB

Hey Mike, Good to see you on the forum.I did get my first ride in and it sure felt great to be back.Could have picked a little less competitive crowd to hang out with but I guess its best to test yourself with the best if your going to play.Tim Lindfors was flying Friday night and I followed him and a fella named Vrana I think for most of the main.Started getting tired about 8 laps in and Paul Covert came around me.Did'nt even know he was there. He made his way to 2nd and I ended up 4th.Iwas happy though because we had a really fast bunch of guys out there.Big thank you to Rodney and Dee Noel for letting me ride their XR,Steve Bigsby and Tim Lindfors for all their help on the bike.
My Dad Jody finished first in the Seventies single class and I think 6th in the pro twins.
It was great to get back on the track and sure looking forward to making it back to Wichita for some racing.
See ya all,
Mark

Mark, that was what I was doing in my spare time at Davenport...
Kyle, you would really enjoy Davenport. Maybe that could be the wife's birthday present next year. What wife wouldn't enjoy a vintage motorcycle race? Wait, I think I might know one...

Mark... Good to hear that you are back on the track and having fun!
Josh, I can always try... Maybe her present will be me going racing and getting out of her hair for a couple days! Might work if I'm a good boy and get my chores all done. I just need to build a better half-miler in time.

Can't make it to Knoxville. We picked that weekend a while back for a big family BBQ. For those of you that don't know, we're gonna have a little "mini-Trail" in January. So, we're celebrating with family next weekend. It seems the celebrations my wife plans are always WITHOUT; bikes, airplanes, or hot rods....
ALSO... Got to meet the nicest guy around at Davenport and I forgot to mention it. Rodney Noel is a super guy, I enjoyed meeting and visiting with him. He's another solid gold flat track soul.

PS...credit goes to Tammy for the term "mini-Trail"

PS...credit goes to Tammy for the term "mini-Trail" Hey, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while I am going to Knoxville for both the Friday and Saturday night shows. Accompanying me will be my dad and Lynzee who will be (as part of her birthday present) experiencing her first National AND taking some goodies to her favorite pro rider for his birthday! The other part of her Bd present was just a little bit of help purchasing this:

What a birthday!!!!
My birthdays never included that good stuff!!!
It raises a question.....Are you looking to adopt? Possibly? 31 year old boy,,,plays with motorcycles,,,,doesn't make the bed, or clean up after himself, but willing to learn....Think about it...
